Conference Presentations

Joan is available to give presentations to community or professional groups on topics related to aging and the law.

Joan also regularly presents at academic conferences, in Canada and internationally. 

For example, last summer: she gave a presentation at the Petrie Flom Centre 2025 Annual Conference: Law, Healthcare and the Aging Body and Brain at Harvard University on:

“Adult Protection and Dementia: Role of (In)Capacity Assessment in the Legal Response”

This summer (2026) she will be presenting papers at two conferences:

1. The International Academy on Law and Mental Health conference in Montreal , and
2. The World Congress on Adult Capacity in Amsterdam.
