Mediation

Joan has been mediating since 2004. She is accredited as a Family Law Mediator with the Law Society of BC, is a certified Comprehensive Family Mediator with Family Mediation Canada, is a member of BC’s Mediator Roster (Civil) and is a certified Elder Mediator. She is the co-chair of the Association for Conflict Resolution’s Elder Mediation Section.

Joan currently provides mediation services to older adults and their family members at the Vista Mediation Group in a specialty called elder mediation. Elder mediation is a process to resolve disputes between older adults and family members often over issues such as care or long-term planning.

Joan provides training and workshops on elder mediation to organizations and to mediators wishing to expand their services to include elder mediation.
